Testimonial videos speak for themselves!
The power of a professionally produced video testimonial is undeniable: it’s emotive, persuasive and has a greater appeal for visitors to your site. Most visitors would rather ‘see’ something than ‘read’ about it, and it has strong hooks in keeping visitors on your site for longer periods.
But having a well made video on your site is only half the battle - credibility is key in communicating with your audience. A well-polished script narrated by a disembodied voiceover may go some way in telling the audience what you do, but convincing them how well you do it is an entirely different affair. We live in an age of reality TV where the ordinary man or woman dominates our television screens, and it is this familiar and empathetic communicator that the audience must see - anything else is just corporate propaganda!
Having said that, by hoping for the best video testimonial by simply pointing the camera at a willing interviewee and asking him or her to say nice things about you will only encourage contrivance.
